Here's our festive little campsite at Skamokawa. Yesterday was my mom's birthday and we made for breakfast one of her favorites (and ours): crab cake benedict (modified, on a bed of wilted spinach instead of an english muffin) with sliced apples and fresh orange juice. It was sunny and warm…

It's still a bit gray out here today but word is that starting tomorrow it's 80s and all sun for the entire weekend. Ospreys are hunting out front and we've seen one big tug and a barge so far. Not bad. Tonight's agenda: after finishing up some more work, we'll…
Comments closedWe're meeting up with my mom and her friend Judi today out at Skamokawa Vista Park for some ship watching and some campfires! This is one of our favorite close-ish to home spots, and we're looking forward to it!
Comments closedWe had a great time this evening at the distiller's festival in South Seattle with Tiffani and Deke. We'll post tomorrow about what we bought…some really good and interesting stuff. It was a great event and if they have it again next year (which they likely will), we'll be back!…

2 CommentsAnd now, with some color: After we finished up the bulk of our work for the day, we headed into the town of Carson and over to the Carson Hot Springs for a mineral bath and wrap (20 bucks). The main building is the Hotel St. Martin, finished in 1901.…
1 CommentHere we are: Right now, we're just working inside (while the mosquitos flock outside) but later on when we're finished, we'll go exploring. Fish & chips for lunch, petting some baby bears at the Wild Animal Safari, lighthouse, beach, more smoked oysters for dinner…those are things on our list today.
