Yesterday afternoon we took our bikes downtown to check out the Springwater Corridor Trail in Portland. I didn't take any photos until we were on our way back and the sun was setting…look at that sky!
This is a great trail and a whole different way to see the city. We rode it out to Powell Butte (nature park) and back, 23.5 miles total. The whole first part is along the Willamette River, and then it turns inland and heads toward Mt. Hood (which we had a nice view of yesterday because the weather was fantastic).
More pretty sky photos:
It was about 8pm when we got back to the car so our plan to cook dinner changed into a plan to go out to dinner and we headed over to one of our favorite spots: Sauvage.
We sat at the bar and had a wine flight and some small plates (deviled quail eggs, radish salad, hamachi carpaccio, and a roasted duck breast (with sunchoke hash, brussels sprouts, blood orange & maple drizzle). All was great, as usual. Then we shared a ridiculous bread pudding for dessert. They changed some stuff from the Pudin du Pan that was on the menu before, and this new one has BACON in it! And a cherry ice cream or something, I don't know, but it was AMAZING.
