I really REALLY like hiking in the snow. I think this means we need to get ourselves some snow shoes so we can do it more often (for more than three days a year) up at Mt. Hood!
Today's hike looked like that (above) and hiked mostly like this (below) — like hiking through a Slurpee. It was pretty hard work, actually. We did just under 4 miles in an hour and a half.
It's about 35 degrees out now and the snow is melting off the trees, but it's still quite pretty out.
Looks like the forecast for the next couple of weeks around here is just rain, rain, and more rain. Our week up at Silver Falls State Park might be a soppy one!
35 degrees! I don’t know how you guys do that, but the pictures are beautiful. I would love to see a picture of you guys and how bundled up y’all are when you guys are out hiking in this slushy mess! Maybe once my wife and I are on the road I’ll get used to such temps, but my Louisiana feet are going to be staying warm until then! 🙂
35 was after it had warmed up! The first few days it was 20 and 25!
Here’s one of Kevin on the trail that I posted on facebook the other day (I think it’s public and you’ll be able to see it: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152170923508459&set=a.136163978458.111272.648113458&type=1&theater)
Glad you liked Pappa al Pomodoro….I’ve made it with veg stock, another time w/water, but the place across from the Duomo used Veal Stock, and it was out of this world.
Welcome home.
