We drove another 30 minutes down the keys this morning to get to our last spot in the Keys: Bluewater Key RV Resort. I've had this place bookmarked for the past couple years in the "if we ever go to the Keys" folder. It does not disappoint. We've got our own tiki hut and outdoor kitchen:
We've got our own dock:
Not bad, eh? We drove into Key West for some lunch this afternoon and tried a spot we'd read about called Garbo's Grill. It's a food truck and it's amazing. Great food and great folks that cook the food. We shared the cayo fish tacos (grilled fresh mahi mahi, mango, red cabbage, jalapeno, cilantro, and special caribbean sauce) and an umami burger (with chipotle gouda, steamed tomato, and applewood bacon). The tacos were great but the burger was crazy good. It's super low key and there are coolers and crates in the shade to sit on while you eat. There are chickens (and a rooster) that wander around hoping you'll drop something.
I didn't take any photos of anything besides that rooster, but go to their website…there are some cool shots of their gig and their food. Fantastic.
We walked around Key West for a bit after lunch and we'd forgotten how touristy it can be (especially when there's a cruise ship docked…which there was).
But now, we're back at our little paradise and we've gotten most of our work done for the day and I think it's time to go sit on the dock with our feet in the water.
NICE!!!!! That looks like it’s worth the extra cost.
