We arrived yesterday, after diverting to the airport at Bozeman (below) instead of coming straight into West Yellowstone because of weather (and the instrument approach at West Yellowstone was out). We rented a car in Bozeman and drove to West Yellowstone, checked into our hotel, and went wandering around for some dinner in the rain.
This morning we got up, had some breakfast, and then headed into the park. We did the whole bottom loop of the park, stopping at many, many geothermal areas, including the Grand Prismatic Spring, Old Faithful (the Mona Lisa of Yellowstone) etc. It was a superb day of sightseeing. Plenty of bison and elk…no bears. Here are some photos from the day, in no particular order. North loop tomorrow.
And I love this shot of Kevin with the big sky behind him. Thanks for a wonderful surprise, hunny!
